Move on like a pro

At a point in life, people feel they are stuck in reverse and they will never be able to come out of this. Trust me, they do. People heal, they progress and when they do they don't even realise how far they have come and even God helps those who help themselves.

The more weight you give your grief, the heavier it becomes. The only way through is to divide your attention, because energy flows where attention goes. Many people don't even know what they are chasing when they chase a person. People change, and nobody stays the same. The moment they change, what they offer you changes too.

I am yet to meet someone who found happiness in a person. For those who didn't, this is not the end of life. In fact, your happily ever after begins the moment you realize nobody is coming to save you. Nobody can make your life a fairytale if you are not a fairy. Once you learn to be one, you turn your own life beautiful. Keep repeating this to yourself: you came into this world alone and will depart alone.

Learn to enjoy solitude before loneliness begins to haunt you.

If your basics are sorted, like paying bills, responsibilities fulfilled, and still have the chance to cry over a heartbreak, you are lucky. Some people have no time to grieve at all. If they let themselves stay in bed all day and grieve, they might miss a deadline or might lose the plans they have built toward their goals. Choice is yours.

Maybe it's a blessing that they don't have time. I have seen people do bizarre things while processing heartbreak. On the contrary, I have seen people reaching new heights as they decided to focus and channelise their energy in the right way.

Here is a piece of advice I gave myself long ago, and it saves me every time: love people with your whole heart, but never let your happiness depend on your place in their life.

Value yourself above all. In the end, the only person you can always rely on is the one you see in the mirror.
